The Deciduous Fruit Producers’ Trust (DFPT) was created by the various primary producer associations after the deregulation of the industry to deal with generic industry issues. Whilst it initially acted as mouthpiece for the industry and housed virtually all industry services and functions, its executive role has slowly diminished as focused entities were created to deal with specific services and functions.

Die Sagtevrugte Produsente Trust (SPT) is na deregulering deur die verskillende primêre produsente organisasies saamgestel om generiese belange te behartig. Waar dit altyd as mondstuk vir die bedryf gedien het en al die dienste en funksies hanteer het, het die uitvoerende rol stadig afgeneem en ander entiteite het ontstaan wat nou spesifieke funksies en dienste hanteer.
